AYŞEGÜL KAYMAK
Assist. Dr. Ayşegül Kaymak received her bachelor's degree in Pharmacy at Ege University and completed her master's degree in Molecular Pharmacology at the same university. She was awarded her PhD in Molecular Biology magna cum laude at IMB (Institute of Molecular Biology) in Mainz, Germany and continued to work as a post-doctoral researcher at the same laboratory for additional 10 months. Then she studied as a post-doctoral researcher at the Drug Discovery and Biomedical Sciences at University of South Carolina in the USA for 15 months. She has been working at EgeTPRC since June 2020. Her research interests include stem cell differentiation, drug resistance and tumor microenvironment and, she has been actively continuing her duties as EACR (European Agency for Cancer Research) Ambassador of Turkey.
UFUK MERT
Dr. Ufuk Mert received his bachelor's degree at the Department of Molecular Biology & Genetics at Middle East Technical University and completed his master's degree in Cancer Genetics at Istanbul University, Institute of Oncology. He received his PhD degree in Medical Biology at Akdeniz University, Antalya. As a grantee of The Scientific and Technological Research Council of Turkey (TÜBİTAK), he had studied at Kiel University, Institute of Experimental Cancer Research as a post-doctoral fellow for 12 months. He has been working at EgeTPRC since June 2020 and has been pursuing his second PhD degree in the department of Basic Oncology at Ege University. Cancer Biology, immunotherapies, and next generation sequencing technologies are among his field of interest.
ECE YILDIZ ÖZTÜRK
Dr. Ece YILDIZ ÖZTÜRK graduated from Ege University Bioengineering Department in 2012. She completed her master's and PhD degree in the Bioengineering Department of the Institute of Science of the same university within the scope of TÜBİTAK 2210-C and 2211-E scholarship programs. During her doctorate education, PhD researcher for 3 months at Wageningen University Food & Biobased Research (Wageningen UR) within the scope of Short Term Scientific Mission (STSM) COST Action ES1408 Grant and Karlsruhe Institute of Technology under the 113M050 TÜBİTAK INTEN-C German-Turkish Bilateral Cooperation. She has been working actively as a postdoctoral researcher at EgeTPRC since June 2020. Her areas of interest are biomimetic microsystems, on-chip-organ platforms, modeling in microfluidic systems, and supercritical / subcritical fluid technologies.
HADİ ROUHRAZİ
Dr. Hadi Rouhrazi completed his bachelor’s degree in Biology and master's degree in Medical Biochemistry. He received a second master's degree from the Department of Basic Oncology under the Cancer Biology and Immunology program at Ege University. He obtained his PhD at the Department of Medical Biochemistry of the same university after completion of a short-term research fellowship at the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Martina Schmidt at the University of Groningen in the Netherlands, in 2016. He started working as a post-doctoral researcher at the laboratory of Prof. Dr. Ralph Meuwissen at Izmir Biomedicine and Genome Center (IBG) in 2017. Currently, he has been working as a post-doctoral researcher at EgeTPRC. His research interests lie broadly in the field of cancer biology, in particular understanding the key regulatory mechanisms and pathways driving cancer cell plasticity and heterogeneity within cellular groups in the context of cancer and how this heterogeneity shapes tumor progression, therapeutic resistance, and clinical outcome.
HANIM AHU URAL
Dr. H. Ahu Ural graduated from Ege University Faculty of Medicine. She completed her residency at the Department of Lung Chest Diseases where she worked on a thesis titled "The Frequency of Obstructive Sleep Apnea Syndrome in Patients with Primary Hypertension" at the Faculty of Medicine, in Dokuz Eylül University.
She worked as a pulmonologist in various private health clinics for many years. She is currently continuing her doctorate program on the performance-based assessment methods in clinical education at the Department of Medical Education at the Institute of Health Sciences in Dokuz Eylül University. She has been working at EgeTPRC since June 2020.
Su ÖZGÜR (STELA SEVASTIYANOVA NANEVA) Dr. Su ÖZGÜR completed her master's degree (2017) and PhD degree in Ege University Faculty of Medicine, Department of Biostatistics and Medical Informatics. She has been working as a data analyst of the International Agency for Research on Cancer (IARC) since 2013 and has been working as an WHO/IARC-GICR expert since 2019. She attended summer schools on Cancer Epidemiology and Cancer registration topics in Lyon, France in addition to a training about basic epidemiology in Sønderborg, Denmark. She completed her summer internship program on deep learning-based cloud computing research on next generation sequencing datasets in Microsoft Genomics team, Redmond, Washington in the USA. She worked on the ‘COST-DIMoPEx project on Asthma and COPD’ at Tartu University, Estonia as a short-term scientific mission researcher. She has been working at EgeTPRC since September 2020. Her main areas of interest are cancer epidemiology, occupational exposure, deep learning, data mining, artificial intelligence, next generation genomics sequencing and fuzzy approaches in statistical analysis. |
